We added a tool to our Layout Editor that allows to extract icons images (PNG) from two icon fonts. The fonts we use are the “Awesome Font” and the “SAP Icon Font” – both together providing more than 1.000 flat icons. When creating the icon you may define the foreground and the background color.
Well, it may sound not 100% right to create icons from a font – but at the end there are quite some use cases in which an icon is the way to go – e.g. the background styling of components (via CSS) is currently not possible with font icons.
